I can tell you that the team will have many, many pictures from their trip. Because of the limited internet access and its unreliability sending pictures isn't really practical. You make a very good point Henry, it is a cycle that is hard to break. Often times children have to travel up to 3 hours each way to get to school so going back and forth so many times isn't really possible. Many of the schools that Village Care partners with are struggling very much, but they do amazing things with what they have on hand. From my experience there are far more success stories in the schools in Kisumu than there are failures. Some schools provide meals, some don't, but all do the very best they can with the limited funds and resources they are given. Great comment and keep them coming.

Sounds like a tough day. If the students don't come back to school after lunch then it seems that extending the school day to keep kids out of trouble makes no sense. I guess feeding the kids lunch at school isn't viable because if you have no money for an adequate number of teachers and desks you probably don't have the money to feed all the kids lunch every day. There doesn't seem to be any good answers. Sad.

Hi to you all. I was a bit worried when I didn't see any blogs earlier. And Monday morning I saw an article on the internet about people being abducted and held for ransom in Kenya. Your comment about the length of the worship service and the "do it again" response reminds me of my daughter Allison as a little girl. When she loved something and didn't want it to end, her response was, "Do it again, Mommy, do it again." Obviously the people basked in your love for God and them--and they returned it "pressed down and overflowing."

Your post regarding your visit with our president's grandmother Sarah and Aunt Marsat on this Fourth of July weekend soothes my soul. What a gift of grace your visit was with her, and her humility was exemplary. I loved her comment that "you were all her grandchildren," and "like all grandmothers, she had to feed us before letting us go." For a brief moment political acrimony fell away and all God's children remained. Thank you for sharing, and may God continue to bless your journey of Caring.
